Jack Dorsey’s sauna routine gets a lot of attention. The CEO of Twitter and Square uses his sauna and cold pool every day, along with his meditation, fasting, and walking. Jack discussed his sauna routine with Ben Greenfield on his podcast.
Dorsey is such a big sauna fan that he owns two of them.
Jack has a traditional Finnish sauna that also comes with a built-in chiller at 37 degrees. He gets the benefits of hot and cold therapy. This traditional Finnish sauna is more relaxing experience compared to his SaunaSpace.
He also has a SaunaSpace portable sauna. It’s is a near-infrared sauna in a tent. He loves it because the tent is EMF shielded. There is no phone signal or radiation inside. Dorsey said that he feels better by just entering the sauna because of the low EMF. Ben Greenfield has discussed the dangers of EMF’s in saunas in previous podcasts.
The temperature in the SaunaSpace is only around 125 degrees. He sweats more in this sauna despite it being almost 100 degrees cooler than his traditional sauna. This is because the photons, from near-infrared light, penetrate more deeply into his tissue. The near-infrared bulbs give him more energy than a dry sauna. SaunaSpace sells these near-infrared bulbs separately so Jack has them at his desk to give him energy.
Jack Dorsey’s sauna routine
Jack has a different sauna routine depending on which sauna he uses. He uses his SaunaSpace in the morning and the traditional sauna at night. This is because his traditional sauna is more relaxing and his SaunaSpace is more energizing. His morning routine is to meditate, do a 7 minute workout, then use the SaunaSpace for 23 minutes, then go for a walk.
His traditional sauna is set to 220. He goes back and forth from the traditional sauna for 15 minutes into the cold for 3 minutes. He does this 3 times through, for about an hour in total. There were false reports that Jack Dorsey’s sauna routine is three times per day. This is typically an evening activity because of its relaxing affect. He also mentioned this is a big weekend activity for him.
Jack Dorsey believes that the sauna and cold have had the “largest impact just in terms of how I feel but also mental clarity.”
